How the score works

Directory Score = DR × traffic multiplier. A directory keeps its full DR only if people find it on Google. Badges and link swaps can raise DR; they can't fake search traffic.

Before You Submit

Login required: yes. The submit page sends logged-out visitors to /auth/signin, and it sends you back to the homepage with 'Please vote for at least one project today before submitting your own' if you haven't voted that day. The FAQ lists what you need: project name and website URL, short description (10-200 characters), full description (500-3000 characters), category, logo and contact email; screenshots, video, maker details and Twitter handle are optional. Launches go live at 12:00 AM PST.

Yes. The free Backlink Plan requires its badge on your site. Premium costs $4.99 per launch, and a monthly promotion is $8.99.

Does Directory Hunt give a do-follow link?

Not on free listings. Of about 100 listings we checked in October 2026, the free ones were rel=nofollow; the Premium listing and some weekly winners linked out without nofollow.
