How the score works

Directory Score = DR × traffic multiplier. A directory keeps its full DR only if people find it on Google. Badges and link swaps can raise DR; they can't fake search traffic.

Search visits a monthMultiplier
100,000+× 1.0
10,000–99,999× 0.8
1,000–9,999 ← ToolFame× 0.6
100–999× 0.4
1–99× 0.2
None× 0.0

Grades: A 40+, B 20–39, C under 20. DR is Ahrefs Domain Rating where we have it, otherwise a DataForSEO estimate; search visits are DataForSEO's monthly estimate, refreshed monthly.

Basic at $19.90 is the practical option: it lists you immediately, needs no badge, and the paid listings we checked link to the product three times without nofollow. The free plan's 180-day wait, DR 10 minimum and permanent badge make it hard to use, and free listings get only one followed link.

Worth It / Watch Out

Worth It

  • Basic is $19.90 one-time and goes live immediately
  • Paid listings link to the product three times, all without nofollow
  • All plans are one-time payments; Sponsor runs 30 days with no renewal

Watch Out

  • Free listings can wait up to 180 days and may be rejected
  • Free listings need DR 10+ and a permanent badge, checked automatically
  • On free listings the 'Visit Website' button and screenshot are nofollow; only the domain text link is followed

Before You Submit

Login required: yes. /submit redirects to a login page (email and password, Google or GitHub). The pricing page showed 874 tools waiting in the free queue on 2026-10-30. Free listings need an Ahrefs DR of at least 10 and a permanent ToolFame badge; automated checks unpublish the listing if the badge is removed.

  • Check your Ahrefs DR before choosing the free plan; the site requires 10 or more
  • SaaSFame is run by the same company at the same prices, so decide up front whether you want both listings
Before you submit:
  • Submitting needs an account: /submit redirects to login
  • Removing the badge gets a free listing unpublished
  • The '1,770,017 monthly visitors' and 'DR 76' on the homepage are the site's own figures

Real Questions

Is ToolFame free?

There is a free plan, but it needs an Ahrefs DR of 10 or more and a ToolFame badge kept on your site permanently, and review can take up to 180 days. Basic costs $19.90 one-time, needs no badge and lists you immediately.

Does ToolFame give a do-follow link?

Yes. On the two paid listings we checked, all three links to the product have no nofollow. On the two free listings we checked, the 'Visit Website' button and the screenshot are nofollow and the plain domain link is followed, which matches the free plan's 'one dofollow link'.

How long does ToolFame take to list a tool?

Paid plans are listed immediately. Free submissions are 'reviewed within 180 days' and may be rejected.
